| Yankee Peddler Site Gets Hacked - CoreCOMM Strikes Again! CantonWeb Article Friday, June 08, 2001
At approximately 11:15 pm Thursday night we received an email from a very confused visitor asking where the "real" official site for the Yankee Peddler Festival could be found.
When we visited the site (www.yankeepeddlerfestival.com) we found that they had, in fact, been hacked. If the page has been restored, the hacked version may be seen here.
By checking Network Solutions database, we found that the site is hosted through MegsInet - an ISP, like RAEX, now run by CoreCOMM.
When we spoke with Jim at CoreCOMM's National Help Desk he said that CoreCOMM could not comment on the hack because they had not been aware of it, - but would be looking into it.
CoreCOMM is listed in CantonWeb's Stark County Web Directory under Internet Service Providers. Discussion for Internet issues is currently available in the Stark County Discussion Forum.
